Gateway Fiber Donates to Local Non-Profits Over the Holiday Season

For the second year in a row, community-focused Gateway Fiber has donated holiday funds to charity. During December, the internet company set aside $15 for each new subscriber installation and donated the total between two charities: Bethel Hills Community in Missouri and Cars for Neighbors in Minnesota, two of Gateway Fiber’s service areas. Together, the organizations received nearly $22,000.

“Since our beginning in 2019, we have been focused on serving our local communities with more than great internet,” said Gateway Fiber CEO Chris Surdo. “The people we serve matter deeply to us, and we are committed to enriching lives in the communities we serve and organizations that support them.”

Bethel Hills Community in Warren County, MO, was founded in 2019 for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live in community with their friends and others who value them.

“We so greatly appreciate this donation, which will assist in building out our technology infrastructure, to include a small computer area for use by our residents, large-screen TV/movie for our new community center, and laptop computers,” said Bethel Hills Executive Director Billie Kramme. Gateway Fiber is also working to bring high-speed fiber internet into the community.

Founded in 2000, Blaine, MN-based Cars for Neighbors is a non-profit dedicated to helping fix vehicles for those who cannot afford much-needed repairs. The organization’s slogan is “Restoring hope one car repair at a time.”

Cars for Neighbors accepted the donation of $8,565 at the Fridley, MN, Gateway Fiber office.

“The generous donation from Gateway Fiber will allow Cars for Neighbors to help an additional seven neighbors in need of car repair who cannot otherwise afford to get their vehicles fixed,” said Kat Smithe, Board President, Cars for Neighbors. “We are grateful for Gateway Fiber’s support of our nonprofit and our neighbors in need.”
